Safety Culture

At MakLoc we are committed to continuously looking into our EHS culture and how to improve year over year. Over the last several months we have collected input from all levels of the organization to evaluate our current culture and how to improve. We believe that rather than referring to our safety policy and program, which is still very important, the concept of safety culture is encapsulated by the mindsets, attitudes, and behaviours of workers, supervisors, managers, and owners towards safety in the workplace. This culture is visible in everyday actions and is prominent when business changes occur. A positive safety culture in our workplace is absolutely a vital part of a successful and effective health and safety program. We begin our cultural journey at clear communication during EHS interactions by asking open ended questions to ensure employees are thinking about the processes that impact their perception of culture.
Culture change is a step by step journey that takes time to properly evolve, we must learn to walk before we leap.
